ECG Grid

The ECG is recorded on a standardized grid of tiny 1mm squares. Under normal parameters, 1mm horizontal = 0.04 seconds, and 1mm vertically = 0.1 mV. Each 5x5 grid of 1mm squares are highlighed as one "big square". 1 big square horizontally is 0.2 seconds, and 2 big squares vertically is 1 mV.

For convenience, it might be useful to remember that 5 big squares horizontally is 1 second, and that 30 big squares horizontally is (30 / 5 = ) 6 seconds.
